Update October 8, 2016

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

ALL of our volunteers are STARS of course, and we appreciate each and every one of them!!

It is difficult to pick just one, but this week Allyssa and Kaylie DAZZELED! Their dedication to WAHS with their efforts and generosity with an amazing variety of much needed cleaning supplies, pet food, and also toys and bedding for the furry ones!

COFFEE WITH A VET
On Saturday October 8th, Dr. Chaffin from Companion Animal Vet came to WAHS for a presentation titled “Ticked off at Ticks.” Dr. Chaffin spoke for about an hour and half. His presentation was about tick prevention, types of ticks, how they get on to an animal, the best products, breaking common myths, and gave a handout about ticks. We look forward to continuing this free educational program for the Winona community. We will be sure to let everyone know when the next Coffee with a Vet event is scheduled.

FUNDRAISER UPDATES

BAKE SALE
Thank you to all the people who helped by baking, donating, setting up, taking down selling and buying at the Winona Area Humane Society’s Bake Sale.

MOOLA CAPS
A big thank you to everyone who saves their Kwik Trip Moola caps, bag labels and donut ovals for the WAHS.  We cashed in an amazing $144.75 worth last week. Cash for trash it doesn’t get any easier than that. A special shout out to Blooming Grounds for taking the time to save all their Moolas for us. We sure appreciate their support.

WTSA

If you are thinking about donating to the November 4th, “Affair for the Animals” silent auction, please consider helping us fill up some baskets. We have had some wonderful items graciously donated already. We could use any number of items such as: beer, wine, nuts, peanuts, chocolates, gourmet candy, sausages, crackers, pretzels, beer glasses, wine glasses, towels, sports items for kids’ baskets, candles, baby items, Thanksgiving items, pretty napkins, placemats, a hand mixer, kitchen utensils, the list goes on. All of these items will help us polish up the baskets. Just think of what you would enjoy seeing in a basket and go from there. Or, if you wish, you can create your own basket and drop it off.

If you want to help out, but can’t decide how, consider a monetary donation to our “Affair for the Animals” silent auction. Monetary donations allow us to purchase items for the baskets. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.

You can drop your donations off at the WAHS office or call 507-452-3135 and a volunteer would be happy to come and pick your contribution up. Thank you so much for your consideration. Your generosity would be greatly appreciated! Bobbi, May, Dede

Attention WAHS fans, our “I Would Cuddle You So Hard” t-shirts are now on sale for $10.00 each and our wristbands are 50% off. Stop in and stock up for friends, family, or yourself!
