VOLUNTEERS OF THE MONTH: SEPTEMBER
This month’s volunteers of the month are Amy Gorton (cat care) and Al Schawe (dog walking).
Amy is a very consistent and reliable cat care volunteer. She has been willing to help out in other areas of volunteering as well. For example, she walked a dog in the Steamboat Days Parade. Her work with the cats shows an obvious deep love for animals and their wellbeing.
Al has been a volunteer for quite some time. He walks dogs several times a week. Additionally, he has always been willing to take any shift that is in-need of covering even on short notice. Like Amy, his volunteer work shows an obvious deep love for the animals. He comes in outside of his dog walking shifts to give the dogs some extra socializing.
Thank you Amy and Al!
Attention WAHS fans, our “I Would Cuddle You So Hard” t-shirts are now on sale for $10.00 each and our wristbands are 50% off. Stop in and stock up for friends, family, or yourself!
Wanted: large, extra large, and extra extra large baskets. Summer is a great time to watch for big baskets at garage sales. We need a lot of these sizes for the WTSA this fall. Please drop off baskets at WAHS during our open hours (Tues to Fri 12-5, Sat 10-2).
ATTENTION WAHS FANS & MEMBERS
Do you have questions, comments, or concerns regarding our facility? If so, you can email those to firstname.lastname@example.org. This is the official way to submit your comments. Please do not email individual board members. Board members and facility staff will review these comments and appropriate action will be taken if necessary.
HELPING IN A DIFFERENT WAY
The WAHS Wish List is available on amazon.com for those wishing to donate specific, much-needed supplies to WAHS. The Wish List is also available in our office and on our website in the Get Involved section.
Would you like to do your normal shopping AND help WAHS at the same time? Amazon Smile is a program offered by Amazon. When you make a purchase on Amazon, you can also make a donation. For more information go to http://smile.amazon.com/about.
Kwik Trip offers two ways for their customers to give back to the community. First, the Milk Moola program. If you buy and consume Kwik Trip bottled drinks (milk, orange juice, water, etc), Glazers donuts, and/or bagged milk/juice, cut off the top of the bag, save the cap or cut off the price label from the front of the glazers box and drop them off in the WAHS office. We can turn these in to Kwik Trip for a donation. Second, if you have a Kwik Card, you are able to set it up to send a percentage of your purchases to WAHS.
The smartphone app WoofTrax also will donate to WAHS each time you walk while using the app!
The WAHS now has a PayPal account for those looking for a more convenient way to donate to our organization. You can find a link to our PayPal on our Facebook page and on our website’s homepage (winonahumanesociety.org) near the bottom.
